Seeing the need to reach those without Christ in Honduras and the need to provide training for Honduras pastors, the couple began to make frequent trips to Honduras.
In 2012, their first pastors conference was held with seven pastors in attendance and some 20 other church leaders. Since then, at least one pastors conference has been held each year, and sometimes two, with numbers continuing to rise. In April 2018, over 100 pastors and over 125 people attended the annual event, where pastors receive training on various Biblical topics.
The Shepherd’s Project also host churches and organizations each summer on mission trips to Honduras. These trips include ministry with Vacation Bible Schools for children, singing and preaching in church services, food distribution hikes in the mountains, and visits to a special all-girl orphanage, among other activities.
This organization has also partnered with Antioch Missions from Jonesville, LA who builds churches and performs other construction projects in Honduras. They have built numerous buildings in Honduras during the many years they have been in operation.
The Shepherd’s Project continues to grow at a massive rate each year and it is solely due to the graciousness of God…the One who initiated this mission organization and sustains it. While the current focus is on the country of Honduras, it is believed The Shepherd’s Project will soon expand to reach other countries with its mission.
